What is the purpose of this site?
Simply, the purpose of Information Leak is to educate. With technology becoming more and more an integral part of our lives, we feel its important to explore these new technologies inside and out. Also, being nerds by nature, we feel obligated to share what information we have learned for free.

Whats with the new layout of the site?
We needed a change of scenery. The old site layout really wasnt designed to grow to the levels we have. It hadnt changed in a few years and we found that due to our increasing popularity and traffic as well as our desire to add more content a new and easier to navigate layout was in order. After a few different ideas and some disappointments, this is what we came up with.

I cant find what Im looking for!
Look harder. We've used a directory-type layout for easy navigation, and instituted a search function as well. If you cant find what you're looking for in the directory and it doesnt come up in our search results, then its probably not there.

I followed a link to an article and it takes me to your main site... where is the article/program/thread Im looking for?
Its around here somewhere. As previously mentioned the site has been redesigned (AGAIN), so many (if not all) of the older links to our content may no longer work. If the link that doesnt directly go to the content is in a forum you are active in, please make a note of the new location to help out others that may fall into the same predicament.

Can you help me with a specific problem/question that I have?
Probably. The question then becomes, WILL WE? The answer to that depends on your question. Generally speaking we will NOT help you do the following:

Other than that, we're pretty helpful. If your problem/question doesnt fall into the above listings of no-no's you'll find alot of friendly and helpful people on our forums, and may want to search/ask for a solution to your problem there. Although we do have a contact page for our administration, we ask you make a serious effort to solve the problem/search for the answer and query our forums as well first. Please read the forum rules before posting in our forums. If your problem is a commonly asked one, we will usually try to create a tutorial on it within site to help others.

Ive been banned from the forums! Why?
There are several ways to be banned from our forums, and generally speaking our bans arent permanent. Most likely you didnt follow our rules that are posted in the forums under "Forum Rules". Another possibility is that you failed to log on within a certain number of tries, in which case our automated security function probably kicked in and temporarily banned you. Try again in a hour or so. If the problem persists after a day or so, contact an administrator and we'll look into it.

Why wont the administrators on your contact page get back to me?
Please recognize and respect the fact that we get TONS of email and although we try to get back to everyone in a timely manner, we are only human. Patience, please.

The site is acting slowly!
We've made this site with speed in mind, (html tutorial format, dedicated server, optimized database, etc) but as traffic increases and due to the multimedia we've added (like the Radio) there is the potential for site speed degradation. If its a constant problem contact us and we'll take some measures to address it, but for the time being, try visiting us at another time of day/week with our apologies.

Theres a bad link/file on the site.
We try to keep everything up to date and current but contrary to popular belief, we're not superhuman. We also have no control over other sites layout changes that have been linked to, so if you do run across a dead link, let us know and we'll take care of it. We appreciate it.
